How to vote in Burlington
The 2026 Burlington municipal election is your chance to choose who represents Ward 6 at City Hall. Here's what you need to know to make your voice heard.
Check your voter registration
Make sure you're on the voters list. Confirm your name and address are correct before August 12, 2026 — the deadline to update your information through the provincial portal.
- Update your voter info on the Ontario Register to Vote site
- After August 12, you can still be added to the list in person at Service Burlington (City Hall) during business hours — until October 23 at 4:30 p.m.

1. Online voting
Vote from your computer, tablet, or phone — no lineups, no waiting.
- When: October 14 through October 23, 2026
- Time: Pre-registration opens at 8 a.m. on October 14 and closes at 6 p.m. on October 23

2. Advance in-person voting
Cast your ballot early at an advance polling station.

Vote in person on voting day.

What to bring
Bring ID that shows your name and Burlington address. Acceptable identification includes:
- Ontario driver's licence
- Ontario photo card
- Ontario health card
- Utility bill, bank statement, or other documents showing your name and Ward 6 address
- Full list of accepted ID from the City of Burlington
